BELLMORE, N.Y. – A 30-year-old Long Island man was charged for driving under the influence. He crashed his car into a house after which police arrested him.
The incident took place on Saturday evening, April 6, 2013, when Matthew Knee and a passenger ended up stuck inside the vehicle after striking into a home in Bellmore, Long Island. Nassau County officers arrived at the scene of the accident and arrested the driver.
According to police reports, Knee’s car was found sticking halfway out onto the lawn of the home. He first drove off a road in Bellmore through a fence and then into the home.
Knee and the passenger were taken to a hospital after the crash where they were treated for head injuries. No one inside the home was injured.
Knee is charged with assault, reckless driving and driving while intoxicated.
